  1. A project named ‘CHAL KHAAL’ initiated in which around 60 nos. of 4x4x3 size and 100 small size holes are dug on the mountains in pedestrian style above the natural springs, those recharges the natural water source below the path of holes by stagnating the rain water.
  2. Cantonment declared a no polythene zone.
  3. Massive plantation drive undertaken to conserve environment.
  4. GRRC Lansdowne Cantt has been awarded the Indira Gandhi Paryavaran Puraskar 2007.
  5. During the year 2017-18, 1500 trees were planted. Out of them 60% plants/saplings have survived.
  6. Fencing of compact planted areas have already been undertaken at 6 places and tree guards were fixed at road side plantation.
  7. To protect forests from fire, Board engages fire watchers on seasonal basis who also help for tree plantation.
